LINDA SHAYNE WRITER / DIRECTOR

Linda Shayne is a writer/director of feature films and television. Shayne has directed for PARAMOUNT, NICKELODEON, MPCA and Concorde. Shayne has written movies and TV for DISNEY, Quincy Jones, Roger Corman, SHOWTIME, Brian Grazer and IMAGINE ENTERTAINMENT. Currently, Shayne is prepping a dramatic feature film. Shayne is American/Canadian (dual citizen).

Shayne developed a dramatic film for X-FILME of Germany (the producers of RUN LOLA RUN) and created a TV series for Quincy Jones' company QDE. Shayne created two TV series for the KIDS WARNER BROTHERS NETWORK and developed a one hour TV series for Mottola Entertainment. Shayne recently optioned a romantic comedy to Aurora Productions and had a dramatic feature film in development with Muse Entertainment.

Shayne directed the film, UNDERCOVER KID, released on WARNER BROTHERS video and aired on HBO Family. Shayne's movie, LITTLE GHOST, was distributed by PARAMOUNT video. Shayne's first feature film was PURPLE PEOPLE EATER, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Thora Birch, Ned Beatty, Little Richard and Shelley Winters. Shayne wrote and directed this classic children's film for which actress Thora Birch won a Youth in Film Award for her performance.
Linda Shayne won a Telly Award for her writing on the "Hard Hat Harry" children's series.

Shayne graduated with highest honors from the University of California at Berkeley. Her published work includes a paper on Ex-Offenders from San Quentin State Prison.

Recently, Shayne wrote the English translation of Djordje Krstic's non-fiction book: Mileva and Albert Einstein: Their Love and Scientific Collaboration, sold at The Einstein House Museum in Bern, Switzerland.

Shayne's book "Christmas Cowboys, Mistletoe Diner and Other Short Stories: A Collection of New Fiction for the Holidays" was ranked #5 by Amazon in their Hot New Releases in Inspiration and Spirituality list.

Recently, Shayne has authored a new children's book, LONGFELLOW FINDS A HOME, illustrated by Emmy Award winning animator, Art Leonardi, who was one on the original "Pink Panther" animation team.
