Linda Shayne is American and Canadian. Shayne graduated with highest honors from the University of California at Berkeley and received a federal grant to study adult autism. Shayne created a dramedy TV series for QUINCY JONES and QDE and developed two animated TV series for WARNER BROS. Shayne's recent feature script is a TOP 10 FINALIST at CINEQUEST 2020. Shayne won a Best Thriller award at HRIFF 2020 and a Best Director award at the FREEDOM FESTIVAL for "MIRROR IMAGE" a short suspense/thriller she wrote and directed. Shayne has developed dramatic films for MUSE ENT. of Montreal and X-FILME of Germany, and she wrote a romantic comedy for PATRIOT ENTERTAINMENT of Los Angeles.
Shayne first directed a film starring Ned Beatty, Neil Patrick Harris, Shelley Winters and Thora Birch. Shayne directed a family film for Kushner-Locke and PARAMOUNT, which filmed in Romania. Shayne directed "UNDERCOVER KID", released on WARNER BROS. video and aired on HBO Family. Shayne's first feature, "PURPLE PEOPLE EATER" garnered actress Thora Birch a Youth in Film Award. Shayne won a TELLY AWARD for her writing on "HARD HAT HARRY" and recently Shayne received an award for action filming from the FLORENCE FILM AWARDS.
